This may be a long shot but I really want to read some books about students studying at art schools. I’ve googled a few and gone through some goodreads list but most seem to be young adult books that focus more on romance tribulations than school itself. I’d like something that focuses on the student life, their struggles , curriculum and just day to day life. May be a shot in the dark but you guys often come through for me so maybe I’ll get lucky. Thank you 😊

    1. There is a significant chunk of Margaret Atwood’s novel Cat’s Eye where the MC is an art student, but it’s in the second half.

    2. *Bitter* by Akwaeke Emezi. It is less about everyday life but about life-changing political events and the young art students’ role in them. There is an element of urban fantasy to it but I wouldn’t say it is primarily a fantasy book. If it looks like YA to you and you don’t normally read that, this one is worth making an exception for.

It is a prequel to *Pet* and I suppose it would be best to read that one first (art plays a role in it, too, but not as prominently as in *Bitter*) but it is not strictly necessary.

    3. The Family Fang by Kevin Wilson is really funny. It’s about growing up in a family of performance artists.
