I’m looking for a fantasy book inspired by Amazon folklore or that takes place in a tropical rainforest style world.
I’d also take recommendations for books that have to do with a SeaWorld style place or setting, or a marine biologist main character?
Ideally fantasy but since these are so specific I’d be okay with other genres. For example The Hungry Tide has a marine biologist MC and I love that book!

For seaworld setting the first thing that comes to mind for me is Mary Janice Davidson’s Fred the Mermaid series. They’re very fun.
Jeff Vandermeer’s Annihilation has a female biologist who specializes in liminal zones and marine life as its protagonist. Fantastic book!
