I just got into book collecting a few months ago and am really enjoying it. I primarily look for first edition/first printings or as early a printing as possible, and I gravitate toward the sci-fi/fantasy genre so that makes up the vast bulk of my collection. I was wondering what are the most valuable books in everyone’s collection?
My best find and most valuable book is a first edition/first printing (1st/1st) of *Ender’s Game* that I got for $7.50 at a used bookstore last month. I found out that a 1st/1st of *Ender’s Game* sold at an auction this week for $4,000.
I also own a 1st/4th of *Dune*, a 1st/1st of *Children of Dune*, a *Dune Encyclopedia* in hardcover and paperback, a 1st/1st of *The Great Hunt* (the second book in the *Wheel of Time* series)*,* a 1st/1st of *Something Wicked This Way Comes,* and a 1st/1st of the U.S. edition of *Good Omens.*
