I’m looking for books to explore gay subculture. Im fairly new to the scene and have had my first relationship but a friend recently mentioned that there are gay codes/ color codes associated with different groups(sexual preference/ interest,bears, cubs, fem, types of relationships, basically subcategories of the gay/lgbt community, etc.). After a little research I see that there are entire subcultures surrounding different preferences/ orientations/ kinks and also a world of different terms and language that is used within the community. I was looking for suggestions on a book that outlines these things and explains gay code/ terminology involving intimacy, sex, relationships, and regular interactions within the community with some introductions to each subculture including history and background and common terms used to describe things.
