I’m curious about what books people would recommend if I loved Dhalgren. 800 pages, incredibly dense, but it’s written in a way that I would put near the opposite end of the spectrum from something like, say, Infinite Jest, Gravity’s Rainbow, or maybe even Underworld by DeLillo. It has a very simple style that I really love, and i love long interesting books that let you fall into a vivid world for a while. So I guess what I’m asking is what are some postmodern books that are very long but written more accessibly, if that makes sense.
edit: i guess obnoxious is the wrong word but i cant change it now lol

Maybe The Books of Jacob by Olga Tokarczuk?
*The Crying of Lot 49*. *Kiss of the Spiderwoman*. *Chronicle of a Death Foretold*. *The Passion* – Winterson. *Ceremony* – Silko.
New York 2140 by Kim Stanley Robinson is fascinating.
Neal Stephenson’s Cryptonomicon is a sprawling WWII story like Gravity’s Rainbow but much more readable. Like Pynchon’s, it has fantastical elements that are actually based in reality when you look them up.
Kurt Vonnegut sounds like something that might be interesting. Try Breakfast of Champions 🙂
