Books about gay subcultures
I’m looking for books to explore gay subculture. Im fairly new to the scene and have had my first relationship but a friend recently mentioned that there are gay codes/ color codes associated with different groups(sexual preference/ interest,bears, cubs, fem, people looking for certain relations, basically subcategories of the gay/lgbt community, etc.). After a little research I see that there are entire subcultures surrounding different preferences/ orientations/ kinks and also a world of different terms and language that is used within the community. I was looking for suggestions on a book that outlines these things and explains gay code/ terminology involving intimacy, sex, relationships, and regular interactions within the community with some introductions to each subculture including history and background and common terms used to describe things. Thanks to anyone who has any insight!
