I’m looking for novels with a historical setting and a class difference premise. Not a Historical Romance per se, because they tend to be light and always headed toward happy endings. I want something kind of dark in the romance area.
An example of this is the webtoon I’m reading called ‘Cry, Even Better if You Beg’
Something along this vibe. Which is basically just Drama, if you calculate the main genre. One can view it as a romance but also a women’s fiction. Historical Fiction best sums up what I’m looking for really– when a reader doesn’t know if the romance will work out or not.
