Hi! Newbie here with a really specific subject matter. I was wondering if y’all have any good suggestions for books (fiction or memoir) about international adoption? Some background: I’m an adult, female, Chinese adoptee in the US, and I’m looking for something to relate to as I ease back into reading after years of being a here and there reader. Some things to be a bit wary of: I’m not a huge fan of when the adoptee hates their adopted parents, or when biological parents are referred to as “the real” ones.
If someone has a rec or two that fits this, please share! I’ve been looking for a while and have been unlucky. u_u

Anne Tyler, Digging to America
A new graphic novel memoir I’ve checked from the library, but not started yet might fit the bill:
Monstrous by Sarah Myer
She was South Korea born, adopted in the US and grew up around Baltimore. It has four stars from different professional journals so is highly acclaimed.
I’m not sure this completely fits what you want but it is a great book. The author was adopted internationally after his parents couldn’t be found. He has an excellent relationship with his parents but the majority of the book deals with his memories of early childhood and him looking for his birth family (fully supported by his family). It was a very interesting memoir.
