Not sure if this is the right, sub, there’s so many.

My mother is around 60 and has terrible eating habits. She was always fit and went to the gym most of her life. She still is, for her age. But she’s packing more fat and a bigger gut than before, and she doesn’t like it. I tell her that it’s also normal, because she doesn’t produce much hormones anymore, but she does have bad eating habits, as well as a bad relationship with food and fat. For example, she loves to eat bread with butter and jam. At night, she goes to the kitchen to eat jam with a spoon. Now, what she’s been doing, is to skip meals, often lunch. She doesn’t know English, nor is she good with technology.

So, I need a book, with what micronutrients are, macros, how fat gets stored, an explanation of hormones like insulin (and how snacks and carbs raise it, prompting the body to store fat), cortisol, ghrelin, what are anti-nutrients, etc. To be clear, I am not looking for a diet book, but a book on health and nutrition.

    1. How not to diet, by doctor Michael Greger, it’s great! Very informative and easy to understand. Before that one, he wrote how not to die, I haven’t read it yet, but I want to
