I am hugely interested in nuclear energy and all around it. Would love to understand everything about nuclear power plants and nuclear weapons.
More specifically I have a huge interest in the nuclear disasters (Chernobyl, Fukushima, …) and how they happened and what went wrong in how they handled it.
Books I have already read:
Richard Rhodes – The making of the atomic bomb
Gwyneth Cravens – power to save the world
Many thanks and have a nice day to you all!
~Happy reading~

John G. Fuller’s **We Almost Lost Detroit** goes into technical detail about the 1966 partial nuclear meltdown 30 miles from Detroit Michigan.
Since you mentioned reading Rhodes first book, he continues the history with *Dark Sun* which covers the origin of hydrogen weapons and the Cold War.
*Command and Control* by Eric Scholsser is a haunting look at the baffling number of accidents, near accidents and general dumbfuckery that takes place in the handling, transportation, maintenance and management of nuclear weapons.
Atomic Days: the Untold Story of the Most Toxic Place in America – Joshua Frank

I haven’t read it (yet) but have listened to an interview of Frank about his book and it’s on my reading list.
Atoms and Ashes: A Global History of Nuclear Disasters by Serhii Plokhy
Maybe ERic Schlosser: Command and Control
Maybe Svetlana Alexievich: Voices from Chernobyl (also published as CHernobyl prayer I think)
Ever read the Oppenheimer biography that formed the basis of Christopher Nolan’s movie? American Prometheus. Won a Pulitzer.
