So I really liked these books in the title not only because of the main characters’ journeys, but also because I was able to learn more about history and how people behaved during times of war,
I’m looking for books that cover historical time periods -other than World war 2-, not world war 1 and not american history, but rather Asian History, something like far Eastern dynasties (Ming, Qing, …) or Middle Eastern periods (Abbasid, Ottoman), or even European History that’s entagled with the rise of the art movements and their spread in europe. and it doesn’t have to be in war time, I’d much prefer times of peace
But I don’t want the books to be boring-to-death textbook style, rather something that has the character as the main focus and the context being the historical time period, and the author has to have a captivating way of telling their story.
