    1. The Nathaniel Cade series by Christopher Farnsworth.
4 books: Blood Oath – The President’s Vampire – Red, White & Blood – Deep State

A vampire (Nathaniel Cade) is captured, tortured, then sworn & forced to serve the presidency due to an ancient blood oath. His job is to defend the country from paranormal threats & supernatural creations (unbeknownst to the general public), all while having to adjust to working with his new partner/handler; Zach Barrows. Zach is now exposed to a world of secrets & sights not many ever will see. It’s hidden politics meets paranormal doom, and everyone is in danger, especially the President!

      …Also…

Out of the Earth series by Jake Bible. 4 books: Out of the Earth, Out of the Sky, Out of the Fire, & Out of the Stars.

Giant monsters emerge from the earth and start the end of the world as we know it. A higher intelligence has other plans though and humanity is forced to make dire choices in order to survive, if that’s even possible?!

This series follows a variety of characters, in different positions of power & locations across the country, as they all struggle through the chaos & destruction in a desperate attempt of survival.

      * ***Where the Red Fern Grows*** **(1961) by Wilson Rawls** – A touching story about a boy and his dogs, exploring themes of loyalty, friendship, and the bond between humans and animals. This one made me cry.

      * ***Snow Crash*** **(1992) by Neal Stephenson** – A cyberpunk classic that takes readers on a thrilling satirical ride through a future America, blending themes of virtual reality, hacking, ancient Sumerian mythology, pizza, swords, robot dogs, skateboarding, futurism. Tongue-in-cheek in many ways, e.g. the main character is named Hiro Protagonist. The most fun I ever had reading a book.

      * ***Red Rising*** **(2014) by Pierce Brown** – The first book in a gripping science fiction trilogy that explores a dystopian society, rebellion, and the quest for justice. The books get way better as the series progresses including more strong female roles and queer characters.

      * ***Churchill’s Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare*** **(2016) by Giles Milton** – A historical account of the unconventional and daring tactics employed by the British during World War II. We’re talking covert secret pirate warfare shit–the Brits were not going down without a dirty fight. Probably the most interesting book I have read about WWII.

      * ***Frankenstein*** **(1818) by Mary Shelley** – A foundational work of science fiction that delves into the moral and ethical implications of creating life. It follows the story of Victor Frankenstein and his creature. I was really impressed when I finally got around to reading this and wish I had read it a lot sooner.

      * ***The Water Knife*** **(2015) by Paolo Bacigalupi** – A near-future thriller set in the American Southwest, exploring the battle for water rights. There is a gritty realism here in its futurism like there is in *The Road*. Very adult themes. Murder mystery with mercenaries, kidnapping, torture, drone strikes, drugs, corporate corruption, totes action.

      * ***Guards! Guards!*** **(1989) by Terry Pratchett** – The eighth Discworld novel, featuring the City Watch and their humorous adventures in the fantasy city of Ankh-Morpork. Pratchett is amazing to experience. This isn’t the first book in the series but a great entrance into the worldbuilding anyhow. There are several great places to start different people will recommend, including of course #1.

      * ***A Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet*** **(2014) by Becky Chambers** – A space opera that follows the diverse crew of the Wayfarer as they journey through the galaxy, exploring themes of friendship, identity, acceptance. Light-hearted and fun. Some of the most fun I have had reading sci-fi, actually

    3. Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir — I don’t even like science fiction but this book had me HOOKED. I couldn’t put it down. And it kind of restored my faith in humanity a bit.

    4. I’m not sure about the translation but I highly recommend the wish punch by Michael Ende, or every other book he’s written for that matter. He’s known for books for children but his stories are beautifully told!

Also: with Christmas coming up “Hercules poirots Christmas” by Agatha Christie. I got it for Christmas few years ago and ever since I read it every Christmas season xD

I think “center of the world” (again not sure about the translation) by Andreas Steinhöfl. He’s an amazing author! He writes authentic, this story really moved me. It has everything: emotions, laughter, excitement. I highly recommend that to anyone. One of my absolute favourites!

In the fantasy genre: terry pratchetts discworld. I loved those books as a kid and still do 🥰

Everything by Erich Kaestner. His books are timeless. My mother and grandmother and I read them over and over again. Beautiful stories!

The little prince. Also one of my favourites.

I really liked the queens gambit, easy read and very well written!

If you’re into SciFi and Humor I HIGHLY recommend the hitchhiker’s guide to the galaxy! One of my fathers fav books and I totally relate to that. Also easy read and very entertaining.

If you like dramatic stories: everything written by Isabel Allende. She writes moving, beautiful and literally takes you ti another world. I have read many books but to feel that near to the characters happened not that often.
