So to explain the best I can, what I am talking about are similar to those goofy movies about time loops, or characters finding some weird object that changes their lives or the world around them. Like a character finds a piece of paper and whatever they write on it becomes reality, a character buys a printer from a pawn shop and it turns out it prints legitimate cash, they find an old watch and as they put it on and set the time, they’re actually going forwards and backwards through time etc. Just random weird ideas that are fun or interesting to read. Not because the topic or premise \*is\* super interesting. But rather because its just so weird or other worldly, while also being something i can imagine experiencing in my own life.
Realistic fiction i suppose? Not sure that genre quite fits. If there is a genre that is precisely this sort of thing, that would be good to know too!
What i dont mean is something like a zombie apocalypse. While yes, they can be a fun/weird premise and the books is more than likely the journey and how the characters handle it, its different than what im thinking of
