I don’t know if I am speaking too soon but I am like 100 and something pages in and I am so bored I feel like nothing is happening. something tells me I should probably just keep reading and the plot will pick up but I feel that if I force myself I’ll be putting myself in a reading slump so….
Should I keep on reading??
Note: I just got into fantasy like ACOTAR is my third book after Fourth Wing and iron flame

I haven’t read Fourth Wing or Iron Flame, but I enjoyed the ACOTAR series. The first book was probably my least favourite, and I actually really didn’t like it until about two thirds of the way through. I thought the writing was pretty bad and pacing was awful. But then once I stopped trying to judge it I enjoyed it. It’s definitely not a literary masterpiece, but I liked it as good easy reading. It definitely gets better from book two onwards. And hey, if you really don’t like it, that’s ok too.
I sometimes hear people say that this series picks up in the later books. Personally, that is not really a selling point to me, as I feel like I shouldn’t have to read hundreds of pages for a story to start to pick up. But from what I’ve heard about it, without reading it for myself, apparently the endgame of it is a much better read than the beginning, if you can stick it out for a few books.
For the first two books the plot is pretty much just something to string together sex scenes. You don’t read ACOTAR for plot, you read it for smut. If you aren’t into that then it’s just not for you. Fourth Wing and Iron Flame are so much better at having a plot where shit actually matters and it’s an interesting story that happens to have *very* graphic sex scenes.
