I’m looking for an intense sad book but I haven’t had much luck. I read a little life, a thousand splendid suns, if he had been with me, the song of Achilles, the fault in our stars, you’ve reached sam, looking for Alaska and others if similar nature but didn’t even shed a tear, granted love and other words as well as a little life gave me a little pang but I want a book that has me an emotional wreck. Recommendations?

Khaled Hosseini did an AMA here [you might want to take a look](http://www.reddit.com/r/books/comments/1snjj3/this_is_khaled_hosseini_author_of_the_kite_runner/) 🙂 [Here’s a link to all of our upcoming AMAs](http://www.reddit.com/r/books/wiki/amafullschedule)

As long as the lemon trees grow by Zoulfa Katouh, i read it recently and i was shattered
if you’re into historical fiction, you might wanna check out “all the light we cannot see” by anthony doerr. possibly one of the most brilliant and heartwrenching books ever written. i just sat in complete silence after i’d read it 😭🖤
George Eliot will get you depressed if that’s any help. Try her ‘Scenes of Clerical Life’ to start with.
