Dark fantasy: White gold wielder by Stephen Donaldson. Also, his Gap series is really dark but SF.
And as always, if you haven’t tried Discworld, you should at least once. I’d suggest Mort, if you don’t like it, then Discworld is not for you atm. In the realm of Discworld there are also books centered around female characters, Granny Weatherwax to name one, maybe try one of those? But Mort is a good start, it kinda sets the premise for the world.
Have you read O’Malley’s Rook Files? Three big books, starting with The Rook. It’s a supernatural secret service in Britain, with a great main female character, an interesting vampire, and really complicated conspiracy plot. The second book is sort of a sequel and the third, Blitz, is mostly set in WWII Britain.
Needle in a haystack, by Casey jordan. Paranormal, empath medium, spirits, demons, sleep paralysis, addiction, love, and loss.
The Wife Upstairs – Rachel Hawkins
Night Work – Nora Roberts
