like how they feel they are unable to fit in with people, how talking to them or getting their reaction is scary. having trust issues. not talking about a pathetic goofy story, but a sad background of the character in this sense. like something happened with them in past, and now they have trouble connecting with people. etc

A lot of people talk about this like it is a horror story, but it is almost like a character study of an abused and mentally ill woman losing her sanity.
