I enjoy reading fantasy literature; however, I prefer when the romance (if any) is more mature. I feel that the inclusion of romance/love scenes can add a lot to the story if done well, but many of the great works of fantasy currently available include either light romance or borderline smut. Can anyone recommend a good fantasy novel that is more “middle of the road?” I feel like I’m constantly being forced to choose between YA and erotica.

the last unicorn has a love story in it but there isn’t any erotica, and it’s a very mature novel!
