Hey I’m a gay guy and I love feeling represented in the books that I read but often get frustrated when the plot for gay characters boils down to an issue of their sexuality
I get that it’s an important topic to tackle and those stories need to exist but I personally feel I’ve read enough coming out/hidden romance lgbt plots to last a lifetime
If anyone has any good reads with great gay characters I’d love to hear them

Do you like Sci Fi?
Cause I have a few recommendations and, in general, find a lot of queer sci fi books to make less of a deal of sexuality. Since they’re set in the future and usually included lots of worlds beyond Earth, sexuality is often viewed as most people being pan or it not being a big deal.
I thought the Gentleman’s guide to vice and virtue was pretty good. (I’m not gay, so my sensitivities to the motivations and usage of gay characters may not be up to par?)
