Kinda a weird ask, but I started reading The Weather Companion and the first paragraph in the foreward was a very short story of a man standing under a streetlight waiting for the snow to fall until it finally does. The author of this book mentions that as being Frank Bergmann’s story. I googled it and found maybe it came from “The Inevitable Immigrant” by Frank Bergmann.
I recently got into reading again, though I have been just reading nonfiction educational stuff. But this short little section reminded me of why I liked reading in the past. It was worded in such a way that immediately painted a picture in my mind and immersed me into the story.
Anyone have any good book recommendations where the author does a good job painting a picture? Fiction or nonfiction, bonus if the book takes place out in nature or involves a lot of weather events.
