My partner and I are more than broke so have agreed that for Christmas we’re each just buying the other one book that must be started on Christmas Day (thank you Iceland for the inspiration). I have lots of ideas but want more! He loves reading but is also a film connoisseur. So what book should I get him that he will think “why isn’t this a film?!”

Night Circus has really interesting imagery. The setting and the plot are, in a lot of ways, the same thing. I’m not one that does a ton of immersive, I’m watching a movie while I read type thinking but that book can only be consumed “visually”. My brain can wander the night circus in ways it can’t even glimpse most other books.
The Institute by Stephen King was a really fun read.
