I’m a big fan of the early 20th century, especially the pre-war period. So I decided to draw myself a plan; I’m going to read the most significant novels published in each year from 1900 to 1914.
For the year 1900, my first choice is “Le Journal d’une femme de chambre” by Octave Mirbeau.
If you can recommend me more novels first published that year, I’d really appceciate it. They could be in English, French, or from any national literature as long as there are English or French translations (I can read those languages only.)
