I’m interested in learning about the current genocides happening now, so k would like any and all history books or memoirs or anything related to Palestine, Congo, and Sudan.
Also any other recommendations about the history of different countries is highly welcomed. I want to be more educated on the history of the world and even the politics of other countries besides America.
Shake Hands With the Devil. About the genocide in Rwanda written by the head of the UN force in Rwanda during the genocide. It caused him terrible PTSD and he ended up as a severe alcoholic. He eventually did recover but what a harrowing story.
Also King Leopold’s Ghost which I think is the beginning of what’s happening in Congo right now.
These are sad, sad stories. Gird your loins you’re in for an unhappy ride.
