I prefer books that take place in the U.S. in the late 1700-early 1900s (no WWII please–I’m burned out on those). I also prefer books that revolve around a particular historical event or person.
The later Outlander books are set during the American revolution. A number of different historical figures show up in the books, but the main characters are fictional.
