So my 11 year old daughter loves to read.
She can devour a big book in a couple of days.

She started middle school this year and it’s been really hard. Having Asperger’s makes it difficult to read face cues, understand sarcasm and jokes.
She is also been teased a lot because of this, and kids these days can be really cruel specially to others that are unique in their own way.
If this continues I am thinking about homeschooling her but that’s a story for another time.
Having said that, I am looking for a book that can help her understand a little bit about social skills and at the same time give her the power and understanding that she needs to love herself as the way she is.
    Any recommendations? Thanks in advance!!!

    1. Since she’s a big reader, have you considered nudging her towards humorous fiction? Handing her a nonfiction book that addresses this head on could feel like judgement or homework unless she’s requested it.

If she’s already reading fiction, she’s learning how interactions work through play and imagination. Expanding the material she’s reading could help her connect the dots in a more natural way.
