I’ve got the habbit of buying new stuff and starting new hobbies with the intent to create a new self/identity.

I buy a new guitar and practice for multiple years because I’d like to be seen as a cool guitarist. I’m not even sure if I really like playing guitar or that it’s only for the image people have of me.

I get new climbing gear because I want to be seen as an impressive climber. And so on…

Maybe it stems from a lack of self worth, I always feel like I gotta create a new and better version of myself.

So, got any book recommendations to combat this?

    1. Walden by Thoreau. It’s fantastic and as relatable today as it was when it was written
