So, I’ve decided to try reading after a pretty long time without doing so, and would like a place to start. I really liked the hunger games books, and it’s prequel, but that’s the most references I can give. I would like to improve my media literacy, and become better at understanding themes, subtext, etc… and so I would like to start with something relatively simple to understand. My preferences are fantasy, sci-fi, etc… but I have an open mind. Also I have no issues with violence, profanity, etc… Thank you in advance

Read Lonesome Dove, its long but its such a fast read and the writing is so silky smooth, or if thats too intimidating read The Shadow of The Wind – by Zafon. It is really a magical book that is so good to read and makes you appreciate books more which may be exactly what you need
