Loved **Gone Girl** and basically anything by Gillian Flynn, looking for something to scratch that itch even more. A character you want to follow the story of, but will come to actively hate. No or little moral code, selfish, looking out for their goals only, etc. Ideally a female MC but I won’t discount others.
Preferably a thriller, but horror or even contemporary is also fine.

Like many of these books, best if you go into it without knowing too much about it.

It’s certainly not the quality of Gone Girl, but you may enjoy **The Doll Collector, by Joanne Stephen-Ward**. Possibly **When I Was Ten, by Fiona Cummins** may also fit the bill!
