    1. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck. It’s probably the only self-help book I actually found helpful.

The ONLY thing that has worked for me is improving my own opinion of myself. This way when someone has a negative opinion of you, you see it as a misunderstanding rather than an attack. This only comes through aligning yourself with what you want and acting on it. The more you build towards something, the more you build yourself, and the more you value your own opinion of yourself rather than others. Also, most of those “opinions from other people” are in your head. Other people, like you, are more worried about themselves than others. They don’t actually care that much about you. There are only a few opinions you should truly care about, and those are the ones who wants what’s best for you. People who have crappy opinions about you likely wouldn’t mind if something crappy happened to you. I apologize for turning this into a lecture but I do have some book recommendations if you’re still reading. Read spirituality. This will shift your view of what’s important to something bigger. Awareness by Anthony de Mello, Conversations with God by Neale Donald Walsh are my favorite. Man’s search for meaning is another one that will definitely put things in perspective. Then come up with a goal or at least a project and find the experts in that arena and read their work. Then make your own work or write about it. Share what you find. Develop a moral compass and values that are extremely important to you. Start moving towards something bigger than you. Once your focus is on yourself and progress instead of others opinions, then you will truly stop caring. Airport magazines wont get you there.
