Hello! I am in need of some book recommendations!
At the moment I am currently reading the 5th book in the Throne of Glass series, and it has left me a little bit disappointed for several reasons.
I really like the premise of the book, along with the fantasy/romance/adventure prospect, and the fact that it has a female MC, but the character development and relationship development overall leaves me disappointed.
I feel like the characters really lack depth and complexity/humatity, the MC is behaving very childishly and I’m not a big fan of the “I’m So Amazing and I Get Everything I Want” trope.
The romance aspect of the book is dry, rushed, and underdeveloped in my humble opinion.
All in all, I really would like something that took the good aspects of ToG, but developed them into a more logical and tangible way.
I’m also a big fan of slowburn and angst, so if the recommendations happen to have these things, all the better!
Btw: This is in no way me trying to diss the ToG series. I really liked the premise and the plot, but the way it has been developed isn’t really my cup of tea and I’m interested in finding similar books but with more of the things I’m interested in seeing, that I expressed above.
