I need help! The last three years or so I have been on a huge reading kick, and have read a good number of books that have become Top 10 for me, that have really impacted me and felt like the ‘perfect read’. My tastes and abilities have changed, and because of this I’ve been having a hard time getting into most novels lately. I used to DNF a lot, but lately I have been better at just getting through the read, even if I don’t love it. It feels like I have read all of the books that I will ever really love, though I know this isn’t the case.
Basically, I really need some recommendations. I feel like it’s been a long time since I have read a really incredible book, and I know there are so many out there but it’s hard to narrow down and decide. My favourite genre is lit-fic, and I am definitely not a fantasy reader. My current favourites are:
Conversations with Friends – Sally Rooney
Sweetbitter – Stephanie Danler
The Idiot & Either/Or – Elif Batuman
Writers and Lovers – Lily King
Cleopatra and Frankenstein – Coco Mellors
Milk Teeth – Jessica Andrews
The Secret History – Donna Tartt
Motherhood – Sheila Heti
The Paper Palace – Miranda Cowley Heller
Boy Parts – Eliza Clark
Recs would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance!
