And I’m looking to start a new series, this one has been amazing so far so if there are any others out there that have similar levels of character and world development I would love to hear suggestions.
Lightbringer by Brent Weeks is one of the reasons why I ended up reading Sanderson’s books. I think both authors have a similar approach to world-building, and they both write characters that spend a lot of time introspecting and have a lot of unresolved mental issues. The two main difference that I usually see brought up is that Weeks’ books are more explicit when it comes to violence and sex, and Lightbringer doesn’t always have the greatest payoffs(a lot of readers think the series got significantly worse in the last two books for that reason; I’m not one of them, I think they have a lot of great stuff despite some questionnable choices).
