I feel like a lot of books i end up reading have super smart uber-genius main characters. I’m pretty stupid and find these kinds of characters difficult to relate to, so I’d like some recommendations for books with intentionally dumb main characters— characters that are specifically written to be dumb, not characters that come across as dumb just because the author didn’t think something through or whatever.

{{Candide by Voltaire}} might work? The protagonist was raised to be too optimistic/sheltered only to fumble through a series of interesting experiences.
Unless you mean that the character is written to look unassuming (leading to mockery for presumed lack of intelligence) although they’re quite capable, in which case there’s {{The Idiot by Fyodor Dostoevsky}}.
