I work in a trade related job and just failed a pre-qualifying test which included algebra, reading comprehension, mechanical type diagrams, etc. I was really good at all these things seven years ago but have been in a mindless position for these seven years and I did not meet the time requirements for the pre-qualifying test. Anyone have some suggestions for books or a course of books?

I have always had great success with the “For Dummies” course books. They’re just textbooks written in a conversational tone with jokes. My local library keeps an extensive collection, too!
Look into books on neuroplasticity.
Maybe a GRE test prep book? That covers a lot of different topics
