I love post apocalyptic/apocalyptic fiction, ever since reading Stephen King’s The Stand as a teenager. But so far I have not come across any titles that death with the natural end of the human race and/or Earth (I’m sure they exist, I just don’t know them and I can’t find the right way to phrase a search so find them in Google!).
When I say ‘natural end’, I mean the idea of what will happen when our sun begins to expand and engulf Earth, billions of years in the future. And what will happen to humans, how will we die out before this happens or hope to survive past this point somehow. Maybe there’s a novel that explores what it means to be the last of the human race as the planet begins to die?
I know that with climate change we may have sped up our own demise, and that we may be gone long before the sun begins to expand (and I know there are fiction books that explore climate change too), but I’m just wondering if there are any books that explore this idea without a premature demise involved!
If you have any suggestions, please let me know 🙂

How High we Go in the Dark is a book about a collection of stories that weave together about the end of the world by climate disaster. It’s incredible
THE PRECIPICE by Ben Bova. THE DELUGE by Mark Morris.
