*edit: re: questioning beliefs… Monkey and the others are being forced into the job by various deities and must reform and become more virtuous as they progress on their journey. The whole work is highly allegorical and the various characters have several meaning such as mind, body, will, etc
*The Lord of the Rings*’s main plot is about transporting the One Ring to Mordor to be destroyed. Of course, not everything goes as planned.
