i hate sounding like i’m “not like the other girls,” but i can’t get into most of the romance books recommended on social media. for me, in the LEAST offensive way possible, most of them read like wattpad-style fan fictions and i just can’t get into them. i haven’t read a whole lot of romance, but i figure i should branch out from YA dystopian books.
does anybody have any recommendations for good romance books that stand out from the mainstream selection? it can be long, short, advanced, whatever, i would just love a book i can get into.

Honestly? *Jane Eyre.* It’s an incredibly unconventional romance and really quite odd, and I normally hate romance, but I loved this book so much. I think about it all the time. Plus, you’ll feel accomplished when you finish it. It’s great on audiobook, too!
