In the past few years, I have realized how important nature and getting outside is to my mental health. I got into birdwatching, hiking around local trails, identifying plants and trees, and just enjoying the outdoors. I’m probably too spoiled for camping (never been) but would love to try it someday.

I recently read *Braiding Sweetgrass* by Robin Wall Kimmerer, and it had such a profound effect on me. It really is beautiful that we live on a planet that provides everything for us. We need to appreciate and protect this place. If you’ve read this book I’m looking for a similar vibe, something that makes nature feel awe-inspiring and recognizes the beauty in the mundane.

I’m looking for something that celebrates nature, but everything I have found is nonfiction. I’m going to read some of that soon, but right now I am really in the mood for fiction. Any fictional novel suggestions about a character connecting with nature? I have been searching for a while but struggling to find anything that isn’t romance stuck-in-a-cabin-together stuff, which is fine but not what I’m looking for.

At this point I would even just accept a book that has beautiful descriptions of natural landscapes without being about nature.
