I’m looking for a story that deals with a longterm couple, preferably middle aged or older, where one of the lovers is nearing the end of their life. Id love to read something that involves the partner being left behind trying to work through the emotions of knowing whats coming while trying to make the most of the time they have left together. This might sound contradictory but ideally with a focus on the love and joy between the couple and not overtly tragic, I need something that captures the undercurrent of anxiety knowing someone you love is slipping away even on the good days.
More than anything I want to read about the way it feels to love someone knowing you only have a limited amount of time left with them.
