Hi, Im trying to get back into reading. I havent really read a book since my senior year when I took AP English and even then I wasnt following along unless the teacher explained every sentence. Im now 27 and trying to read some of the penguin classics recommended by my friend. I just started with Heart of Darkness because it sounds cool, but im so lost. I just read the introduction describing the scene but when Marlow goes on his monologue I cant follow along. I dont understand what hes saying or how hes saying it. I dont think im ready for this. Could anyone recommend some easier books or should I just keep going and read some spark note explanations after im done?
