Hello! I’m looking for some mystery recommendations for my grandma who generally enjoys cozy mysteries and “cute” (read: non-sexually explicit) romances.

She can’t stand heavy swearing, explicit sex scenes, or graphic violence. She is fine with sex and violence if it appears off-page as part of the motive and/or crime.

She loves Mary Higgins Clark’s books, the Cat Who series, and An Elderly Woman Must Not Be Crossed. She enjoys John Grisham’s books and the Ruth Galloway series. She has recently enjoyed books about elderly people solving murders/crimes or getting up to other Old People Shenanigans.

(She also generally enjoys Amish romances and historical romances in the vein of “Pride and Prejudice” and “Jane Eyre”, but I’m not sure how much overlap there will be between “Amish romance” and “old ladies in a retirement village investigate the gardener’s death” books.)

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

    1. Try Camper & Criminals cozy mysteries by Tonya Kappes. They are delightful and light. No crazy violence or sexual content it’s just wholesome mystery telling.

The first book introduces the main character and at first she’s very annoying and snobby but her growth path moves her to being sweet and caring and awesome, which follows her through the next 30+ books.

They are very short books but so fun!
