I love a rom com beach read type book, but I’m also really picky with books. I like a light read that has developed characters, interesting plot, and has decent writing. I know this seems like baseline, but I really do think it’s hard to write a good version of this type of book.
I don’t necessarily need a romance. I love character driven novels, or drama around a family.
I’ve loved Abby Jiminez’ books and think she is the best at this genre. I also liked “Same time next summer” by Annabel Monaghan and “the true love experiment” by Christina Lauren
Emily Henry’s books are just ok. Liane Moriarty is fine.
I have not liked most of the super hyped up books: lessons in chemistry, Norah Goes off script.
