I’m working with an 11-year-old child who has a severe reading disability. He’s getting help with it, but he can only enjoy books that are read to him, and he loves stories. I know he would absolutely love *The Neverending Story*, but it’s not available on audiobook (that I can find). Can you suggest something similar? I’m looking for something involving heroism, where good overcomes evil, and the perfect book would have a child as the hero.
I am planning to buy him *The Phantom Tollbooth* and *Ronia, the Robber’s Daughter*, and maybe *Coraline*. I can’t buy him *The Graveyard Book* because his history of trauma makes it a very bad idea, for now. Any other thoughts?
