Hello! I’m a millennial who grew up in the Midwest. I’m trying to remember some books that I would have read throughout grade school to high school (graduated 2008). I have a terrible memory.. some books I do remember are :
– Out of the Dust by Karen Hesse
-Series of Unfortunate Events
– Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson
– high school lit books like To Kill a Mockingbird, 12 Angry Men, Of Mice & Men
– The Face on the Milk Carton by Caroline Coonie
-Where the Red Fern Grows
I’m just looking for some nostalgia, if you can think of anything! Or maybe your favorite books from that era. Thank you 😊

In middle school I read A Wrinkle in Time and it’s sequels Wind In The Door and A Swiftly Floating Planet.
Highschool my favorite books were Animal Farm and One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest
I read a lot in middle and high school, more than just assigned reading. Perhaps some of these will have similar nostalgia for you:
{{Alanna: The First Adventure by Tamora Pierce}} and other series in that universe. My favorite series starts with {{The First Test by Tamora Pierce}}
Percy Jackson books like {{The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan}}
{{The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster}}
{{Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery}}
{{Inkheart by Cornelia Funke}}
{{The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien}}
{{Carry On, Mr. Bowditch by Jean Lee Latham}}
{{Little Women by Louisa May Alcott}}
This is what I remember reading for class..
– Hatchet
– Charlotte’s Web
– Things Fall Apart
– The Westing Game
– The Phantom Tollbooth
– The Outsiders
– Jane Eyre
– Short stories: The Lottery and The Telltale Heart
Since I haven’t seen it yet, I’ll offer up Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli.
Does anyone remember the horror high books or freshman dorm
