    I know this request is strange, but as a person with chronic pain and illness, and severe anxiety I’m strange. 🤭
    My fantasy definitely is to be a lead and protected by her lover.
    Gender doesn’t matter, so it can be a romance between any genders.

    I don’t resonate right now with being strong.
    The whole ‘It’s okay Darling, you don’t have to be strong, you don’t have to worry, I’ll take care of you’ fantasy is an emotional need right now.

    I’m open to any genre as long as it has this dynamic and the two lovers are main characters who have chemistry. I especially love fantasy books! Id prefer if the main lady isn’t a warrior or a royalty, more an ordinary person.

      Totally get this! Here are a couple of romances I’ve read recently featuring chronic illness, both MM.

      {{Two Rogues Make a Right by Cat Sebastian}};
      {{The House of the Red Balconies by A.J. Demas}}

      Not illness per se, but the relationship in {{We Could Be So Good by Cat Sebastian}} has some of the caretaking vibe.

      Possibly {{A Taste of Gold and Iron by Alexandra Rowland}} – the MC has severe anxiety and the LI is literally his bodyguard.

      ETA: oops, I didn’t see the last paragraph. Only the last one is fantasy, but it does feature a royal.
