Any books with characters like him? Preferably books with sad endings, equally raw and disturbing descriptions of characters' experiences with mental and/or physical illness, trauma, s3lf-h@rm/su1c1d@l ideation that led to low self-esteem, loneliness or them feeling unimportant. He made me feel absolutely devastated but also so comforted, I desperately need to get that feeling back. I'm recommended The Goldfinch again and again, but I don't feel like it was as raw, although it is a beautiful book. I was also recommended A Thousand Splendid Suns and it was absolutely devastating, but I found it hard to relate to the main characters, which made it less close to my heart. Thank you so much!
