Fictional or semi-fictional books set in the Ottoman Empire prior to 1900, or books about Turkic peoples generally?
Most books I've come across about the Ottomans, or Turks more generally, seem to be set either during the Crusades or in modern times (19th-21st centuries). Surely there must be more out there … ?
