Usually I listen to audiobooks when I’m washing the dishes so it’s like 10-20 minutes a day.
I’m not a big fan of ensemble cast recordings. Which is surprising – but the think it’s something to do with my auditory processing disorder- it’s just harder to follow along
Some books that have been great:
Middle grade fiction like the Mysterious Benedict society & The Series of unfortunate events (Tim Curry is the narrator)
Surprisingly Pride and Prejudice was amazing to listen to 20 minutes at a time – because there was a lot of drama.
Norse mythology by Neil Gaiman was great- the short stories timed up almost perfectly & it was a fun read. & unlike other short stories the characters were the same throughout the book. So it was more like episodes of a tv show
I’m up for trying different genres. I’m picky about what books I actually like- but I’ll read different books from almost every genre.
Thanks!
Edit- there have been a few books I’ve tried to get into- Station eleven, Our wives under the sea, The starless sea – that did not work at all in short spurts at all. Idk if they were just paced too slow or what it was hard to get into them
