Book with a unique & imaginative narrative voice that’s hard to understand and doesn’t explain itself to the reader?

Like for example the main character has their own names for everyday objects, very simple narratives are told fantastically, random references to unrelated things the character is interested in, other characters have a bunch of different nicknames, etc
