I finished reading it literally couple of minutes ago. I am speechless right now. My mind is blank. I didn't expect this book would affect me way this much. The journey.. The characters.. So much deaths I was not prepared to.. So many tears shed.. So many questions.. That's it for now while I sulk in my bed processing my thoughts.
This is now one of my all time favorite book. Thank you, Larry McMurtry.

Definitely *do not!!* read the follow up **Streets of Laredo**. Reading now with r/bookclub and hating it.
It’s the great American novel. There should be no debate. It’s Lonesome Dove.

I couldn’t read this book without a glass of bourbon. It just felt wrong to not be sipping whiskey alongside Gus and the Hat Creek crew.
I loved the audiobook. One of those rare books that I wanted to re-start right after i finished it. Such deep characters with completely understandable motivations. Once it was over it felt like I just lost my friends and wanted to re-read it just to find them again.
Well now I HAVE to read it. I’ve seen this title literally everywhere. **takes deep breath** by the sounds of things, I’d better prepare myself!
